Biography
Alessandro Britti, born 23â¯Augustâ¯1968 in Rome, is an Italian singerâsongwriter and guitarist whose career began in his teens with blues performances in Rome before moving to Milan. At 17 he formed his first band, and in 1989 he established the Alexâ¯Brittiâ¯Bluesâ¯Band, collaborating with Buddyâ¯Miles, Billyâ¯Preston, Louisianaâ¯Red and touring Europe with Rosaâ¯King. The midâ1990s tour with Francescoâ¯Deâ¯Gregori prompted a shift toward a softer rock sound, leading to his breakthrough single "Solo una volta (o tutta la vita)" in 1998, which reached the top of the Italian charts. In 1999 he won the newcomers category at the Sanremo Festival with "Oggi sono io". Alessandro Britti released It.Pop in 2008 and Bene così in 2013, among other albums, while singles such as "Milano" (2008) and "Perché?" (2015) maintained his presence on the charts. He performed on the Alexâ¯Britti MTV Unplugged tour in 2008 and collaborated with artists including Biancaâ¯Atzei and Lauraâ¯Pausini.
