Krystle Kantrece Johnson, known professionally as Ak'Sent, was an American rapper born on May 29, 1987, in Los Angeles, California. Raised by her grandparents after her father's death and her mother's inability to support her, Ak'Sent grew up in South Central, Los Angeles. She began her music career at the age of 16 when she was signed to Capitol Records. Her single "Zingy," featuring Beenie Man, was released in 2006, reaching number 32 on the Rhythmic Top 40. Her first album, International, was released the same year. Ak'Sent collaborated with notable professionals such as The Jugganauts and DJ Quik. She released her second album Gem-In-I under the Avex label on July 16, 2008, exclusively in Japan. Ak'Sent's music was featured in various media projects, including the soundtracks for the movies Coach Carter and Fame, as well as video games like NBA Street V3 and Thrillville.
