Air Miami was an American indie rock band from Washington, D.C., formed in 1994 by Mark Robinson and Bridget Cross, both former members of Unrest. The duo later expanded into a quartet with the addition of drummer Mike Fellows and bassist Lauren Feldsher. Their first release was Fourteen Songs, a self-released cassette in 1994. The band's breakthrough came with their single "Airplane Rider", which garnered significant attention from college radio stations. Air Miami released their debut album, Me. Me. Me., on TeenBeat Records and 4AD Records in January 1995. Their EP Fuck You Tiger followed later that year. The band's song "World Cup Fever" also received notable airplay. In 1996, they released the compilation album 1996 Teenbeat Sampler. Air Miami disbanded in 1998. Posthumously, their remix EP World Cup Fever Remixes was released on TeenBeat Records in 1998. The bandâs catalog later returned to circulation with the 2023 deluxe reissue of Me. Me. Me., and "World Cup Fever" received renewed attention around 2026 through 4ADâs World Cup-themed collaboration referencing classic football songs from the label.
