Abrasive Wheels, a punk rock band from Leeds, England, formed in 1976. Their name was inspired by Phil "Shonna" Rzonca's engineering apprenticeship. The band made their first public appearance at a friend's party in 1977 and gained early traction with support slots for bands like the UK Subs. In 1981, they released their debut EP, The Army Song, which reached number 35 on the UK Indie Chart. After several lineup changes, Abrasive Wheels signed to Riot City Records and released their EP, Vicious Circle, and their first album, When the Punks Go Marching In, in 1982. Their second studio album, Black Leather Girl, was released in 1984. The band split later that year after an international tour. Shonna Rzonca reformed Abrasive Wheels in 2002 with new members and continued to release music. Notable singles include "Burn 'em Down!" and a cover of Elvis Presley's "Jailhouse Rock".
