Biography

A, a British rock band formed in Suffolk, England, emerged in the early 1990s when its founding members, who would later be noted for their distinctive blend of classic rock and alternative influences, began collaborating in local venues. The group first recorded How Ace Are Buildings in October 1997, followed by the Singalong EP in 1998 and the live Exit Stage Right in August 2000, establishing a local following that led to the release of 'A' Vs. Monkey Kong in August 1999 and Hi‑Fi Serious in March 2002. In July 2005, the band broadened its reach with Teen Dance Ordinance, a project that showcased a more experimental sound and attracted attention from indie record labels. Their most recent studio effort, PRANG, was issued on 22 May 2026, marking a significant milestone in the group's evolution and solidifying its place within the contemporary British rock scene. Throughout its career, A maintained a steady presence on regional charts, earned several nominations at UK independent music awards, and toured extensively across the UK, playing headline sets at well‑known festivals such as Reading and Leeds.
