Biography

200.000 NaglbÃtar, an Icelandic rock band originating from Akureyri, formed in 1993. The group gained early recognition by participating in the MÃºsÃktilraunir music contest in 1995, where vocalist Vilhelm Anton was awarded best singer. In 1998, they released their debut album NeÃ³ndÃ½rin, which received positive reviews from MorgunblaÃ°iÃ°. Their subsequent albums included VÃ¶gguvÃsur fyrir skuggaprins in 2000 and Hjartagull in 2003. The latter was nominated for Best Pop Album at the Ãslensku tÃ³nlistarverÃ°launin awards, with "LÃ¡ttu mig vera" receiving a nomination for Best Pop Song. In 2003, "LÃ¡ttu mig vera" became the most played Icelandic song on RÃ¡s 2 radio station. The band also performed at the Iceland Airwaves festival in 2003.
