Biography

Zakk Sabbath is a Black Sabbath cover band formed by lead guitarist and hard rock frontman Zakk Wylde. Born on January 14, 1967, in Bayonne, New Jersey, Wylde joined Ozzy Osbourne's solo band at 21 years old and remained there for two decades, serving not only as the singer's longtime guitarist, but also as the co-writer of hits like "Mama, I'm Coming Home" and "I Don't Wanna Stop." Although his collaborations with Osbourne had become few and far between by the mid-2010s, Wylde still saluted his former employer by forming Zakk Sabbath with bassist Rob "Blasko" Nicholson and drummer John Tempesta (who was later replaced by Joey Castillo) in 2014. The group released an EP, Live in Detroit, in 2016, followed in 2020 by the full-length album Vertigo. A double-album, Doomed Forever Forever Doomed, was released in March 2024, featuring the band's reinterpreted versions of songs from Black Sabbath's iconic albums Paranoid and Master Of Reality. The album was embraced by metal fans worldwide, even charting at number 7 in Germany.
