Zach Top is an acclaimed neo-traditional country and bluegrass singer, songwriter, and musician. Born on September 26, 1997, in Sunnyside, Washington, he began playing guitar at the age of five years old. Two years later, he joined his siblings in a bluegrass band called Topstring, who toured and recorded for a decade before he moved on and joined the Seattle, Washington-based band North Country. After his short tenure with that band, he formed the country band Modern Tradition. He split the band and decided to go solo, releasing his debut single, âIn a World Gone Wrong,â in 2019. After the release of the 2021 single âI Donâ Mind,â he scored his first significant hit with âLike It Aint No Thingâ (2022, which reached number 1 on the Bluegrass Today chart. After his 2021 relocation to Nashville, Tennessee, he continued to work on his craft and learned from the many hit-making songwriting friends he surrounded himself with. He released his self-titled debut album in 2022, which was met with critical acclaim and introduced him to a wider audience. That same year, Zach Top made his Grand Ole Opry debut (on July 27), wrote several songs for fellow country artist Joshua Hedley, and released the singles âCold Beer and Country Music,â âThereâs the Sun,â and âBad Luck.â He remained busy in 2023, issuing singles such as âBusy Doinâ Nothinâ,â âThe Kinda Woman I Like,â and âJusta Jonesinâ.â He ended the year with the holiday-themed single âFor You for Christmas.â In January 2024, Zach Top released âSounds Like the Radio,â the first single from the album Cold Beer & Country Music, featuring his greatest hit âI Never Lieâ, ranked Number 24 on the Billboard Hot 100, and âUse Meâ (Number 37 in country chart). After the live duets of Me & Billy with Billy Strings (2025), Top returned months later the with his sophomore album Ain't In It for My Health, including singles âSouth of Sanityâ (Number 34 in country chart) and âGood Times & Tan Linesâ (Number 32).
