Biography

American country singer Jackson Dean was born on October 6, 2000, in Odenton, Maryland, where he grew up listening to the roots sounds that would soon influence his songwriting. At age 18, Dean moved into a cabin on his grandfather's property, then left the city for Nashville. He began collaborating with songwriters like Luke Dick and Casey Beathard after settling in Tennessee, developing a sharp writing style that matched his vocal performances. Opportunities to share shows with headliners like Brothers Osborne, Miranda Lambert, Toby Keith, and Kane Brown followed, attracting not only an audience of new fans but also the attention of Big Machine Records. The label signed Dean in 2021, and he released his self-titled debut EP, Jackson Dean, later that year. "Wings," the record's lead single, failed to chart. However, Dean returned in 2022 with "Don't Come Lookin'", a song written alongside his producer, Luke Dick. Buoyed by his appearance on the television series Yellowstone, "Don't Come Lookin'" became a hit, reached No. 50 on the Billboard Hot 100 (No. 11 on the country charts). A month later, Jackson Dean's debut album, Greenbroke, was released. After the success of the single "Fearless (The Echo)", the singer followed up with the album On the Back of My Dreams (2024) and its flagship title "Heavens to Betsy".
