Biography

José Jacson de Siqueira dos Santos Júnior—known by his stage name Zé Vaqueiro—was born on January 20, 1999, in Ouricuri, Pernambuco, and endured a challenging childhood marked by hardship and early jobs like selling ice cream and working at a car wash. Immersed in music from a young age by accompanying his singer mother to rehearsals, he began performing in small local gatherings and recorded a homemade debut album, distributing just 50 copies at fairs to gain initial exposure. His breakthrough came in 2020 when the heartfelt single “Vem Me Amar” went viral on social media, followed by the massive hits “Tenho Medo” and “Letícia,” each racking up over 100 million views on YouTube and establishing him among Brazil’s top-streamed artists that year. In 2021, he released the studio album Vibe Original, followed by the EP Do Melhor Jeito in 2022, further cementing his presence in forró and piseiro circles. His popularity continued to grow through regional releases and collaborations, leading into 2024 with the live album Ser Tão Eu (Ao Vivo), and into 2025 with new singles like “Meu Eu em Você” and "DNA do Mato," the latter of which was included in his 2025 album Que Pancada de Mulher.
