Biography
Yukiko Iwai, born on May 26, 1968, in Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture, is a Japanese pop singer. She began her career as a gravure model in the magazine Model Graphix before joining the all-girl pop group Onyanko Club in June 1985. Yukiko Iwai quickly became a prominent member of the group and performed lead vocals on their fifth single "Osaki ni Shitsurei" released in July 1986. Alongside Mamiko Takai, another member of Onyanko Club, she formed the spin-off group Ushiroyubi Sasaregumi. Yukiko Iwai's solo career began with the release of her debut single "Angel Bodyguard" on March 25, 1987. She released several albums including ãããå
ç· in July 1987 and No! in December 1987. Her final single as a singer was "Peter Pan Again" issued in February 1989. Following her retirement from singing, Yukiko Iwai appeared in various TV variety shows and worked as an image character for the game software company Taito. She participated in Onyanko Club's reunion event in 2002 but has since retired from public life.
