Biography

Yoeko Kurahashi, born September 20 1976 in Japan, is a Japanese singer who began her musical career after graduating from Aichi Prefectural High School in Meiwa, Nagoya, with a focus on music. She released her debut EP 礼 on November  23,  2000, followed by the album 婦人用 in 2002 and 東京ピアノ in 2004, establishing a presence in the J‑pop scene. In 2005 she signed with BabeStar and continued to issue annual releases, including Tadaima (2005) and Iroiro (2007), the latter featuring the single "Son To Uso" (2007). Her single "友達のうた" (2008) marked a later return to recording. Kurahashi announced her withdrawal from the industry on April 30 2008, releasing the final album Dismantle the Piano on June 4 2008 and embarking on a farewell tour that concluded on July 20 2008. After a 15‑year hiatus, she resumed activity on July  1  2023 under the name Yoeko, issuing new material such as New Yoeko (2023) and New Yoeko II ~Rhapsody~ (2024). Her career has been noted for consistent yearly output and a dedicated fanbase within Japan’s pop music landscape.
