Biography

Xutos & Pontapés are a Portuguese alternative rock band who have been popular in their homeland, where they are acclaimed as a major force in rock music. Formed in Lisbon by guitarist Zé Pedro (who died in 2018), singer and bassist Tim, saxophonist and keyboard player Gui and drummer Kalú, the line-up has also included guitarist João Cabeliera since 1983. They have released more than 20 recordings including 'Eighty Eight' (1988), 'Dados Viciados' (1997, 'Nesta Cidade' (2003) and the concert album '1º De Agosto No Rock Rendez-Vous' (2000). Their most recent release, 'Duro' (2019), topped the Portuguese Chart and they toured regularly across Portugal playing for large audiences.
