Biography

Xutos & PontapÃ©s are a Portuguese alternative rock band who have been popular in their homeland, where they are acclaimed as a major force in rock music. Formed in Lisbon by guitarist ZÃ© Pedro (who died in 2018), singer and bassist Tim, saxophonist and keyboard player Gui and drummer KalÃº, the line-up has also included guitarist JoÃ£o Cabeliera since 1983. They have released more than 20 recordings including 'Eighty Eight' (1988), 'Dados Viciados' (1997, 'Nesta Cidade' (2003) and the concert album '1Âº De Agosto No Rock Rendez-Vous' (2000). Their most recent release, 'Duro' (2019), topped the Portuguese Chart and they toured regularly across Portugal playing for large audiences.
