Biography

The Xcerts, a Scottish alternative rock band, were formed in Aberdeen in 2001 by Murray Macleod and Jordan Smith. The duo added Ross McTaggart on drums and recorded two EPs locally before moving to Brighton in 2006, where Tom Heron replaced McTaggart. The band released the singles "Breathtaking Fight" and "My Book Laughs", followed by "Just Go Home" and "Do You Feel Safe?". The band's debut album, In The Cold Wind We Smile, was released in 2009 via Xtra Mile and King Tuts Recordings. They toured extensively with acts like Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly and Twin Atlantic, and performed at major festivals including T in the Park and RockNess. Subsequent albums include Scatterbrain (2010), There Is Only You (2014), and Hold On to Your Heart (2018).
