Wayne Starks, better known as Wyn Starks, is an American soul singer known for blending modern pop with classic R&B influences. Born on September 10, 1978, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, he was raised on gospel music and began pursuing music full-time after losing his hospitality job during the COVID-19 pandemic. His breakthrough came in 2021 with the release of his debut album Black Is Golden, which showcases his dynamic vocal range and delivers powerful messages about identity and resilience. Wyn Starks’ appearance on Season 17 of America's Got Talent brought him national attention, particularly with his emotional performance of his hit song "Who I Am," which earned two standing ovations from the judges and went viral with over 3.6 million views on his channel. This performance cemented Wyn Starks' place as a rising star in the soul and pop scene. He followed up in 2024 with other popular singles singles such as "Where Are the Giants," "Run," "Mom of Mine," and "Happy Again," which reached number 24 on the Adult Contemporary Songs chart in the US.
