Quasi, an American indie rock band formed in 1993, originated from Portland, Oregon. The group initially consisted of Sam Coomes and Janet Weiss, who played multiple instruments and shared vocal duties. Their self-titled debut album was released in 1993. Quasi gained attention with their subsequent albums, including R&B Transmogrification (1997) and Featuring "Birds" (1998). The band continued to release music throughout the late 1990s and early 2000s, with notable albums such as The Sword Of God (2001) and Hot Shit! (2003). Their later works include American Gong (2010) and Mole City (2013). Quasi toured the U.S., Europe, Australia, and Japan, both on their own and with acts like Ted Leo and the Pharmacists and Elliot Smith.
