Biography
Wombo is an American trio from Louisville, Kentucky, formed in 2016 by Sydney Chadwick (vocals and bass), Cameron Lowe (guitar) and Joel Taylor (drums). Originally from a first band, The Debauchees, with Wombo they adopt an indie rock style tinged with post-punk and art rock, characterized by angular guitars, dynamic rhythms and an often strange, hypnotic atmosphere. After a debut EP, Staring at Trees (2017), and their debut album Blossomlooksdownuponus (2018), the band signed to Fire Talk Records in 2021 and recorded the single "Dreamsickle", included on the Keesh Mountain EP, followed by the isolated single "One of These". The first album for the label, Fairy Rust (2022), receives critical acclaim and is completed in February 2023 by Fairy Rust & Selected Demos. June 2023 sees the release of the Slab EP, followed by opening concerts for Bully and Cherry Glazerr. In 2025, the trio let in repetitive patterns, guitar loops and electronic sounds on their fourth album Danger in Fives, supported by a major tour across North America, the UK and Europe.
