Biography

Formed in Brighton in 2018, the indie rock band Youth Sector consists of leader, singer and guitarist Nick Tompkins, Brad Moore (guitar), Harvey Dent (keyboards), Josh Doyle (bass), and Karl Tomlin (drums). Known for their sharp, energetic songs wrapped in witty lyrical observations of modern life, their music is influenced by art-school and post-punk bands like Talking Heads and Devo. Self-produced singles such as « Dig It and Repeat » (2018), « Run », « Renting Spaces in My World » and « Tonight » (2019) were followed by three EPs, Mundanity (July 2020), Adult Contemporary (February 2022), and Quarrels (June 2023), the latter released as a 12" by Dance to the Radio label. On September 19, 2025, Youth Sector released their debut album Pop Couture, which peaked at number 18 in UK's Independent Album Breakers chart.
