Biography

Willem Philippe "Wim" de Bie was born on May 17, 1939, in The Hague, Netherlands, was a Dutch comedian, writer, and singer. De Bie's musical journey began with the release of his first solo album, De Bie Zingt (Een Mini-A-Capella-Elpee), in 1984. His later works include De Fluiten Van Ver Weg (De Wereldmuziek Der Cananefaten), a 1996 release that explored world music themes. De Bie also contributed to the comedy duo Van Kooten en De Bie with Kees van Kooten, creating various satirical TV shows together. Throughout his career, he authored several books and drew comics. De Bie passed away on March 27, 2023, at the age of 83 due to complications from Parkinson's disease.
