Biography

White Elephant is a British collaborative music project formed around 2010 in Nottingham. Bringing together DJs and producers Chris Todd (Hot Toddy) and Jim Baron (Ron Basejam) of Crazy P and Ben Smith of Smith & Mudd, the trio evolved slowly over the first few years, giving reason to its name, an animal with a long gestation period. Since the release of the single "Sir John" in 2011, the band has ingeniously defied musical definitions, oscillating between the electronic and the organic. After the release of the EP The Old Euphonium in 2016, nine years pass until the tracks "Warriors" and "Lovers " (2025), which are the subject of remixes, like the following single "IDTYCLM" (2026). In February 2026, White Elephant releases its first album, World Elephant Day.
