Whispers in the Shadow, a gothic rock band from Austria, was founded in 1996 by Ashley Dayour. The initial lineup included Dayour on vocals and guitar, Richard Lederer on bass, and Sebastian Adam on guitar, performing live with a drum computer. Their debut album, Laudanum (1997), was followed by November (1999), which included the club hit "Train". They released the studio album Into the Arms of Chaos (2008). Their sixth studio album, The Eternal Arcane (2010), was followed by The Rites of Passage (2012) under the Solar Lodge label. Their album Beyond the Cycles of Time (2014) concluded their alchemical tetralogy.
