Biography

Western Addiction, a punk band from San Francisco, was formed in 1988 by Jason Hall, Chad Williams, and Chicken Annicharico. The trio worked at Fat Wreck Chords, where they released their first EP, Remember to Dismember, in 2003. Ken Yamazaki joined as lead guitarist in 2004, and the band released a split EP with New Mexican Disaster Squad that same year. Their debut full-length album, Cognicide, was released in 2005, followed by tours across the US and Japan with bands like Propagandhi and NOFX. After a period of inactivity, Western Addiction returned in 2013 with the EP Pines. Tony Teixeira joined as a guitarist in 2014, and in 2015, the band released the EP I’m Not the Man That I Thought I’d Be and Euro Tour E.P. Their second full-length album, Tremulous, was produced by Joey Cape of Lagwagon and released in 2017.
