Biography

Weeping Willows, a Swedish rock band formed in 1995, originated from Magnus Carlson and Thomas Sundgren's involvement in a cover band playing country music and rockabilly. The duo joined Stefan Sundström’s Apache band, leading to the formation of Weeping Willows, named after a line in Johnny Cash's "Big River". Their debut album, Broken Promise Land, produced by Pål Svenre, was released on October 3, 1997, and featured collaborations with notable musicians. The album achieved significant success in Sweden, Norway, and Germany. Weeping Willows continued to release albums including Endless Night (1999), Into the Light (2002), and Presence (2004). Notable singles include "I'm Gonna Let Love Find Me" (2005) and "Merry Christmas, My Love" (2020). The band's music is characterized by its sentimental rock style with prominent string and brass arrangements. Weeping Willows' albums consistently reached the top ten in Sweden.
