We Are the Ocean is an English rock band from Loughton, Essex. Formed in 2007 by Liam Cromby, Jack Spence, Alfie Scully, and Tom Whittaker, they gained early attention through MySpace promotion. Their debut self-titled EP We Are the Ocean was released in 2008, followed by their second EP Look Alive in 2009. The band's first full-length album, Cutting Our Teeth, produced by Brian McTernan, came out in 2010. They followed with Go Now And Live in 2011, featuring singles "What It Feels Like" and "The Waiting Room". Their third album, Maybe Today, Maybe Tomorrow, was released in 2012. The band's fourth album, Ark, was released in 2015 under BMG/Infectious. We Are the Ocean toured extensively across multiple continents and participated in major festivals such as Reading and Leeds Festival and Download Festival. In 2017, the band announced their disbandment but reunited in 2022 for a live show at London's Omeara Venue.
