Klaus Waldeck, known professionally as Waldeck, was born on March 23, 1966, in Vienna, Austria. He began his musical journey with classical piano lessons at six and later studied law. In 1992, Waldeck moved to London, producing demo tapes and collaborating with local artists. His breakthrough came with Balance Of The Force (1998), co-produced by Kruder & Dorfmeister, which gained global attention. In 2001, he founded Dope Noir Records, releasing notable albums like The Night Garden. Waldeck's project Saint Privat, created with singer Valérie Sajdik, earned the Amadeus Austrian Music Award for newcomer of the year in 2005. His album Ballroom Stories (2007) introduced vocalist Zeebee and became a defining force for the electro swing genre, selling roughly 35,000 physical copies and streaming over 65 million times on streaming platforms. Notable songs like "Get up...Carmen" and "Make My Day" have been used in various TV shows and advertisements.
