Biography
Born in Linz on November 27, 1974, Austrian DJ and producer Marcus Füreder began using the pseudonym Parov Stelar in 2004. That same year, he founded the Etage Noir Recordings label and released the album Rough Cuts, in which he began to develop his electro swing style. Parov Stelar plays with the Parov Stelar Band or as the Parov Stelar Trio, bringing the warmth of instruments to his samples. Parov Stelar's tracks appear on a number of compilations, including several volumes in the Buddha Bar and Hôtel Costes series. In March 2013, Parov Stelar releases The Invisible Girl album , while his track "The Mojo Radio Gang" tours the French charts. Half album, half compilation, The Art of Sampling in November 2013 offers a veritable feast of electro swing. Increasingly popular, Parov Stelar released The Demon Diaries in May 2015. 2017 marks the Austrian musician's return with a twelfth album entitled The Burning Spider. He follows this up with the Voodoo Sonic triptych, consisting of three EPs and a summary album released in 2019 and 2020. In 2022, Moonlight Love Affair takes the electronic dance-pop route, which is confirmed two years later by Artifact, featuring contributions from Lana Del Rey and Claudia Kane.
