Biography

Voka Gentle is a London-based alternative trio known for its atmospheric blend of neo-psychedelic pop, indie rock and experimental elements. Consisting of William J. Stokes (vocals, guitar) and sisters Imogen and Ellie Mason (keyboards, vocals), the London-based band emerged in 2015 as Wovoka Gentle with three EPs, Yellow, Blue and Red, followed by the 2019 album Start Clambing Cymbals, released on the Nude label. The group, which had meanwhile released several singles under the Voka Gentle name, including "1,000 Opera Singers Working in Starbucks" (2018), released the album WRITHING! in 2021 on the Leafy label, and continued to expand its musical palette with singles such as "Sympathiser" (2023) and "First Snow", "Creon I" and "Cheddar Man" in 2025. In February 2026, The State51 Company released their third album Domestic Bliss, featuring Hamish Hawk on "Ultra Aura Glow".
