Jack Hayter is a British multi-instrumentalist and singer-songwriter. He first gained recognition with the alt-country band Spongefinger, releasing albums on Volcano Records/Cargo Distribution. In 1999, Hayter joined Hefner full-time, contributing to numerous albums, singles, and EPs for the Too Pure label. Hefner achieved several top 75 singles and performed at major festivals like Festival Internacional de Benicà ssim and Reading & Leeds. After Hefner's dissolution in 2002, Hayter debuted as a solo artist with Practical Wireless (2002) on Absolutely Kosher Records. In 2011, he signed with Audio Antihero and released the EP Sucky Tart (2011), followed by the singles series The Sisters of St. Anthony (2012). Notable collaborations include work with Darren Hayman, Antony Harding, and contributions to various projects post-Hefner.
