Vittorio Casagrande, born on July 8, 1934, in Vittorio Veneto, Italy, was a singer who moved to Munich with his family during World War II. His early musical training began when the conductor of the Bavarian Radio Children's Choir recognized his vocal talent and nurtured it. In the 1950s, Vittorio Casagrande gained local fame in Munich as part of the band Die Rivieras. His breakthrough came in 1961 when Paul Kuhn discovered him at a Schwabinger Beatclub and helped secure a record deal with Electrola in Cologne. Throughout the 1960s, he released several notable singles including "Tintarella di Luna" (1960). which sold over 500,000 copies, "Liebe, die nie vergeht" (1962), and "Il Mondo" / "Angelique" (1965), . In 1969, he achieved significant success with the album Eine Gitarre und tausend Illusionen. Vittorio Casagrande also appeared in various television shows such as Musik ist Trumpf and Zum Blauen Bock, and was one of the first West German schlager singers to perform in East Germany. Besides his music career, he acted in several TV series including Zimmer 13 (1968) and films like Rossini â oder die mörderische Frage, wer mit wem schlief. He passed away on July 9, 2008, at the age of 74.
