Virgin Black is an Australian gothic metal and doom metal band formed in Adelaide in 1995 by guitarist Sesca Scaarba and vocalist/keyboardist Rowan London. The group issued a self-titled demo EP in 1995 and the EP Trance in 1998. Their debut album Sombre Romantic was released in 2001, after which the band recorded for Massacre Records in Europe and The End Records in the United States. The single âOur Wings Are Burningâ was released in 2003, the same year as the album Elegant⦠and Dying. The band later released the trilogy albums Requiem: Mezzo Forte (2007), Requiem: Fortissimo (2008), and Requiem: Pianissimo (2018). The track âWalk Without Limbsâ was issued in 2021 through Dark Escapes Music.
