Biography

Villebillies is an American band from Louisville, Kentucky, formed in 2001. The group began as a collaboration between lead vocalist Demi Demaree and the hip-hop production team of Dustin “Tuck” Tucker and William “BJ” Young, blending hip-hop, rock, country, blues, soul, and bluegrass. Their self-titled debut studio album, Villebillies, was released on September 26, 2006, under Universal Motown Records. The release launched a touring circuit across the South and Midwest, where they opened for major acts such as Nelly and Hank Williams Jr. In late 2007, they posted the song "Stranger" online, and on September 30, 2008, they released their second album, From the Belly of the Beast, which featured the singles "No Seeds" and "Flask and a Gun". They followed with the album Appetite for Dysfunction in February 2012. In November 2013, their single "Love Is Kind of Crazy", a version of the Classics IV song "Spooky", received a worldwide release through RED Associated Labels. Their album Holy Water was released on October 11, 2016, and its title track was covered by Alice Cooper on his July 28, 2017, solo album, Paranormal. The band's honors include multiple LEO Readers Choice Awards between 2005 and 2010, winning the Best Hip Hop Artist/Band title several times.
