Addictive, an Australian thrash metal band formed in 1987 in Blacktown, consisted of Greg Smith on vocals and bass guitar, Joe Buttigieg on guitar, and Matt Coffey on drums, with Mick Sultana joining on lead guitar in February 1988. Their first release was the five-track extended play Ward 74 in October 1988, followed by their debut studio album Pity of Man in November 1989. Steve Moore replaced Coffey on drums in July 1990. The band's second album, Kick 'Em Hard, was released in February 1993 after the master tapes had gone missing for over 18 months. Both albums were remastered, expanded, and reissued as the compilation Kick 'Em Hard (Rebooted Edition) in 2015. Addictive continued to perform live sporadically before disbanding in 1996.
