Biography

Born on 3 June 1964 in Los Angeles, California, Kerry King is a renowned musician who rose to fame as the co-founder, lead guitarist, and songwriter of the legendary thrash metal band Slayer. He has been a tour de force of the international heavy metal scene since the early 1980s, having co-launched Slayer in 1981 and performing with them for 43 years. Following the band's hiatus in 2019, Kerry King set his sights on a solo career, first letting his intentions be known in 2020. His debut solo LP arrived four years later, From Hell I Rise, on Reigning Phoenix Music. Lifting from a familiar Slayer-like thrash metal template, the LP drew an array of guest contributors, including vocals from Mark Osegueda of Death Angel, guitar from Phil Demmel of Machine Head and Vio-lence, and drummer Paul Bostaph, who has previously played with Slayer. The album was a commercial success, soaring to the top of the UK's Rock & Metal Albums chart as well as cracking the mainstream UK Albums chart at 75.
