Michael Boyer II, known professionally as Verbs, is an American Christian hip hop artist. He started rapping at age twelve and initially gained experience dancing with GRITS during the mid-90s. His debut album The Syllabus (1999) and subsequent release The Action Figure (2000) were successful in the gospel rap genre under Gotee Records. Boyer II's first album under the name Verbs, Unlocked (2003), followed a six-month mission trip to South Africa with his home church in Nashville, Tennessee. He later released The Groundwork Theory (2007). Verbs collaborated extensively with GRITS on various albums, contributing to tracks like “U.S. Open” and “Hopes and Dreams”.
