Hailing from Manchester, the Ventrelles band formed in 2017 brings together several styles of English rock from the 1980s/1990s, from jangle pop to shoegaze via sophisti-pop and, of course, Mancunian formations. Composed of Phil Knox (vocals, guitar), Connor Long (guitar), Paul Mawhinney (bass) and G-Lo Knott (drums), the quartet was conceived while the leader was living in Chicago, before taking shape in Manchester. Following the release of "She's Got It Down" in 2017, self-released singles have followed since "County Lines" (2021), including "Call of the Morning" and an early version of " Symphony of Sorts" the same year. Symphony of Sorts" the same year, in a wide variety of genres, as demonstrated by "Gondola Wishes" and its wall of guitars in April 2022, followed by "Stop" and its mix of classical and rock strings in November of the same year. After the release of the very pop "Happenstance " in November 2023, "Acid Flower", "Salamander Disco", a new mix of "A Symphony of Sorts " and "We All Fall Down" follow in 2024. In 2025, "Emily's Song" reaches no. 22 on the UK vinyl singles chart (no. 18 on physical formats).
