Biography

The Clause is a British indie rock band from Solihull (West Midlands, England). Formed in 2015, it consists of Pearce Calla (vocals), Liam Deakin (guitar), Jonny Fyffe (bass) and Niall Fennell (drums). Following in the tradition of predominantly guitar-based English rock, the quartet of childhood friends has forged its reputation on stage through relentless touring, club gigs and support slots for The Reytons, The Pigeon Detectives and The Enemy. Following the release of their first single in 2017, "Sixteen", the band released a series of singles, culminating in the Forever Young EP (2022), as their cross-country tour sold out. In between gigs, a new salvo of singles gushed forth, collected in the Pop Culture EP (2023), and failing to break into the charts, The Clause enjoyed the unwavering support of a growing audience, bolstered by appearances at summer festivals The Great Escape, Live at Leeds and Y Not in 2024. The same year sees the release of the Weekend Millionaire EP, which reaches number 29 in the UK album download charts. Following the release of new singles, "Elisha" and "Tell Me What You Want", in October 2025 the band release their debut album, Victim of a Casual Thing, which reaches number two in the download charts.
