Vandoliers, an American alternative country band from Texas, was formed in 2015 by Jenni Rose following the dissolution of her Fort Worth-based punk trio The Phuss and an eight-week eye infection. During her recovery, Rose discovered The Marty Stuart Show and the similarities between punk and country, inspiring the creation of Vandoliers' debut album, Ameri-Kinda. The band signed with State Fair Records in 2016, which re-released Ameri-Kinda, followed by The Native in 2017. The albums led to tours with acts like Reverend Horton Heat and Old 97's. In 2019, they released Forever via Bloodshot Records, and in 2022, they self-released The Vandoliers under Amerikinda Records. The band gained national attention in 2023 for performing a show in dresses in Tennessee to protest the state's anti-drag bill. In 2025, Rose publicly came out as trans, coinciding with the announcement of the band's fifth studio album, Life Behind Bars.
