Biography

Universum25 is a German supergroup formed in 2019 as an all-star project featuring Michael Robert Rhein of In Extremo, Rupert Keplinger of Eisbrecher and Antitype, Pat Prziwara of Fiddlerâs Green, Gunnar Schroeder of Dritte Wahl, Alex Schwers of Slime, and producer JÃ¶rg Umbreit. The band's musical style is a crossover of synth rock, punk, and metal, incorporating elements from the various genres of their member bands. Their debut release was a music video for "Der Traum Ist Aus", a classic German alternative rock song by Ton Steine Scherben, released in 2022 to mark its 50th anniversary. The video included disturbing images from world history and came with a trigger warning. Universum25's self-titled debut album was released on March 3, 2023, via Vertigo Records, reaching number 10 on the German album charts. Their subsequent tour, UNIVERSUM25 â Horizont in Flammen, took place from October 2023 to January 2024.
