Biography

Unextraordinary Gentlemen, a Los Angeles-based post-punk, gothic rock, and art rock musical project formed in 2005 by bassist and keyboardist Richard Pilawski and vocalist and lyricist Eric Schreeck. The project emerged from Pilawski’s surf-punk background and Schreeck’s interest in Victorian fantasy, and the pair described their music as exploring post-punk, synth-pop, industrial, and experimental music. Violinist Jennifer Pomerantz joined in 2007. Their debut EP 5 Tales From God-Only-Knows (2007) received positive reviews from ReGen magazine and Mick Mercer. The follow-up EP No Hands To Guide Us arrived in 2008. The single "Open Arms, Empty Air" was remixed by Vernian Process in 2008 and Barry Adamson in 2011. In 2012, the band released the album Stars Pulled Down. They performed at major goth and steampunk festivals such as Eccentrik and the Edwardian Ball.
