Uncle Acid & the Deadbeats, an English psychedelic rock and doom metal band, was formed in Cambridge by Kevin Starrs in 2009. The first album by Uncle Acid & the Deadbeats, Vol. 1 was released in 2010. The band's initial breakthrough came with their second album Blood Lust in 2011, which garnered significant acclaim and cult status within the doom metal community. Their music is heavily influenced by the late 1960s, incorporating elements of psychedelic rock, garage punk, and early heavy metal. The band's third album, Mind Control, released in 2013, further solidified their reputation with its concept-driven narrative and received universal acclaim. Uncle Acid & the Deadbeats have toured extensively across Europe, North America, and Australia, performing at notable festivals such as Roadburn, Download, Hellfest, and Roskilde. They supported Black Sabbath on 16 dates of their Reunion Tour in Europe in November and December 2013. The studio album Nell' Ora Blu, which paid tribute to Italian film music, was released in May 2024.
