Day After Tomorrow, a Japanese J-pop band formed in Tokyo in April 2001, consists of Misono (vocalist and songwriter), Masato Kitano (guitarist and composer), and Daisuke Suzuki (keyboardist and composer). The group was signed to Avex Trax and supported by producer Max Matsuura. Day After Tomorrow debuted with the mini-album day after tomorrow on August 7, 2002, alongside the DVD single "faraway". Their second mini-album, day after tomorrow II, released in November of the same year, reached number 3 on Oricon's album charts. The band won their first Japan Record Award for Best New Artist in December 2002 for "faraway". In March 2003, they released their debut studio album, elements, which also peaked at number 3 on the Oricon chart. Their subsequent albums included primary colors (February, 2004) and day alone (March, 2005). Notable singles include "My faith", "futurity", and "Dear Friends / Itâs My Way". The band disbanded in August 2005, with Misono pursuing a solo career. Posthumous releases included the compilation albums single Best and complete Best, both released in September 2005.
