Biography

Alongside her cousin Dappy and school friend Fazer, Tulisa Contostavlos scored a string of UK hits and platinum selling albums as urban pop trio N-Dubz became one of the biggest acts in the country. Raised in Camden, London and introduced to the music industry by her uncle and father - both members of 1970s rockers Mungo Jerry - Tulisa's fame rose when she replaced Cheryl Cole as a judge on talent show The X Factor in 2011. She mentored girl group Little Mix to winning the competition before launching her solo career with the Number 1 single Young and making the Top 20 with debut album The Female Boss (2012), a collection of dance floor stompers and big, R&B ballads. She teamed up with US rapper Tyga for second single Live It Up and performed follow-up Sight Of You live on the show, swiftly becoming a sassy, pop diva and favourite of the tabloid press.
