Biography

True Steppers were a British UK garage production duo formed in the United Kingdom by Jonny Lisners and Andy Lysandrou, who emerged from the late 1990s underground club scene. Their initial breakthrough came with the 2000 single "Buggin" featuring Dane Bowers, which reached number 6 on the UK Singles Chart in April 2000. The duo followed up with the collaborative single "Out of Your Mind" in August 2000, a partnership with Dane Bowers and Victoria Beckham that peaked at number 2 after a brief chart battle with Spiller and Sophie Ellis‑Bextor. In 2000 they released True Stepping, their sole album, and issued further singles such as "True Step Tonight" featuring Brian Harvey and Donell Jones, which entered the UK top 40 at number 25. Throughout their brief career the group was noted for their 2‑step garage sound and high‑profile collaborations, cementing a place in the early 2000s UK dance music landscape before the duo quietly withdrew from the public eye.
