Trooper Da Don was born Toyin Taylor on July 25, 1973 in Lüneburg (Germany). He is a German rapper, radio presenter and actor who was part of the early hip-hop scene in Germany from the 1980s onwards. In the mid-1980s, he co-founded the hip-hop crew Metropole Art Designz in Karlsruhe, which marked his entry into the then young rap culture. He later appeared several times as a guest rapper, for example with DJ Tomekk and Lil' Kim on the song "Kimnotyze" (2002) and with Vanessa Struhler on his own single "Ride Or Die (I Need You)" (2003), which consolidated his presence in German-language rap. His music is in the hip-hop/rap genre, characterized by a distinctive voice and street influences. In addition to his work as a rapper, Trooper Da Don hosted the "Trooper Show" on the radio station bigFM from 2009 to March 2017, which extended his media reach beyond music. He also works as an actor under his real name in various film and television productions, including the comedy Das total verrückte Wunderauto and the film Evet, ich will!
