Biography
Trio Libels is an Indonesian pop and R&B vocal group from Jakarta, formed in 1983. Recognized as the first boy band in Indonesia, the group was established by Ronny Sianturi, Edwin Manansang, and Yanni Airlangga. The name is derived from their high school, SMA Negeri 15 Jakarta. The group gained recognition after winning the competition Bintang Radio dan Televisi and the Festival Lagu Populer Indonesia 1989 with the song âLestariâ. The band released its debut studio album, Gadisku, in 1989. Their discography includes the albums Aku Suka Kamu (1990), Jerat Jerat Cinta (1991), and Bila Itu Maumu (1992). In 1990, the trio collaborated with Chrisye and Rafika Duri on the albums Hening and Kidung. Later recordings include the single âTidak Semua Laki-Lakiâ (1997) and the albums Cinta Sebenar (1999) and Life Is Beautifulll (2010). Following the death of Airlangga in 2015, the formation resumed activity in 2023 with the member Stanley Sagala.
