Biography

Ideamen, an American art rock band from Chicago, Illinois, was formed in 2006. The group initially consisted of keyboardist Tim Swanson, vocalist Dave Solar, and bassist Mark Vasquez, with guitarist Jeff Piekarczyk and drummer Phil Goodrich completing the lineup. Their debut release, the self-produced EP Progress, was released in 2007. Following Piekarczyk's departure, Dan Figurell joined as the new guitarist. The band signed with Rotten Records in 2008 and released their debut album, May You Live In Interesting Times, on October 27, 2009. A second guitarist, Phil Miller, was added for touring in October 2010, and the band toured extensively with acts such as Polkadot Cadaver and Look What I Did. The follow-up album, Schemata, faced multiple delays due to health issues and lineup changes but was eventually released on February 2014. In September 2017, Ideamen released their third studio album, Trained When We're Young.
