Treepeople, an American alternative rock band from Boise, Idaho, formed in 1988 with vocalist/guitarist Scott Schmaljohn, drummer Wayne Flower, guitarist/vocalist Doug Martsch, and bassist Pat Brown. The band's early influences included Hüsker Dü and the Replacements. They released their debut album No Mouth Pipetting in 1989 before relocating to Seattle and releasing the EP Time|Whore in 1990. Their subsequent albums, including Guilt Regret Embarrassment (1991) and Just Kidding (1993), showcased their evolving sound and lineup changes. Notable songs include "Makin' The D" and "Outside In". After releasing their final album Actual Re-Enactment in 1994, the band disbanded due to internal issues and member departures. Pat Brown passed away in April 1999. Treepeople reformed in 2018 with Troy Wright on bass, concluding their final tour in August 2023.
