Biography
Gruntruck was an American rock band formed in 1989 in Seattle, Washington. The group consisted of vocalist Ben McMillan and drummer Norman Scott, who were previously members of Skin Yard. Their debut album Inside Yours was released in 1990 on Empty Records with production by Jack Endino and Gary King. The band signed a multi-album deal with Roadrunner Records, which re-released Inside Yours and issued their second album, Push, in 1992. Gruntruck gained significant exposure through tours with Alice in Chains and Pantera. In 1996, after a legal battle with Roadrunner Records over contractual obligations, Gruntruck released the Shot EP on Betty Records. The band took a hiatus in 2003 following health issues of McMillan, who passed away on January 26, 2008. In 2017, Metal Injection ranked Gruntruck 4th on their list of "10 Heaviest Grunge Bands".
