Biography

Trapper Schoepp, born in Red Wing, Minnesota, is an American singer-songwriter. Inspired by Bob Dylan's "Hurricane," he began his musical journey after a back injury led him to guitar lessons. At age 17, Schoepp formed The Trapper Schoepp Band with his brother Tanner on bass. In 2009, he released Lived and Moved under the name Trapper Schoepp & the Shades while attending the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee. He signed with SideOneDummy Records in 2012, releasing Run, Engine, Run. In 2016, Schoepp signed with Xtra Mile Recordings and released Rangers & Valentines, followed by Bay Beach Amusement Park in 2017. In 2019, he released Primetime Illusion, produced by Patrick Sansone of Wilco and featuring Schoepp's co-written song "On, Wisconsin" with Bob Dylan. He later signed with Grand Phony Records to release May Day in 2021.
