Antonio Ferdinando Del Monaco, known professionally as Tony Del Monaco, was born on December 27, 1935 in Sulmona, Italy. He began his career as an actor before transitioning into music. Del Monaco's debut single "Scoubidoubidou / Non Sei Bellissima" was released in 1959. In 1965, he gained recognition with the song "Vita mia", which charted in Italy. He participated in the Sanremo Music Festival multiple times, notably in 1967 with "à più forte di me", paired with Betty Curtis, and in 1968 with "La voce del silenzio" alongside Dionne Warwick. Del Monaco released several recordings including the album Tony Del Monaco (1966) and Le Più Belle Canzoni Di Tony Del Monaco (2006), which was released posthumously. His compositions were covered by notable artists such as Mina and Tom Jones. Del Monaco passed away on May 27, 1993 in Ancona, Italy.
